Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Beresford Lounge?

Located in Glasgow’s most iconic Art Deco landmark, in the heart of the city centre, Beresford Lounge aims to become an institution that will be an anchor point for the art and business community in Scotland.

We are creating an entertainment venue over three floors of the Beresford Building, comprising a small cafe, bar, restaurant, multi-functional event space and a night club. We honour the building’s style and rich history in interior design and branding and blend present-day luxuries and amenities with the glittering allure of the Golden Age of Glamour.

What Is Our Mission
Honouring the history of our remarkable building, we will exhibit Glasgow to the world and the world to Glasgow by supporting and showcasing local artists, products, ingredients, and businesses alike. We will host fun and educational events and contribute to charitable and non-charitable causes that will help see the city prosper. We will invite international artists, business leaders and educators to bring the best of the world to our customers’ doorsteps.

What Is The History Behind Beresford Lounge?
The Beresford Building on Sauchiehall Street was originally designed to welcome guests during the 1938 Empire Exhibition, Scotland’s largest event held to date with 12.8 million visitors. The iconic building was also the location of JFK’s first official address to US citizens representing the United States of America. It was later used to house WWII troops, then as accommodation for students. The building represents all that is great about Glasgow and its people — resilience, a welcoming attitude, and a sense of class. Our brand will give people the opportunity to glance into the past and see all that is great about our city and its people and immerse themselves in our strong vision for the future of our community and those that we serve.
